Ballinafad

The village of Ballinafad is an interesting place to live, it lies 25 miles from Sligo town and 5 miles from Boyle. On the road to Boyle there is a lot of history which always attracts visitors. Most find the Gaelic warrior on horseback tempting to stop and visit. The view from his standpoint of the surrounding countryside is spectacular. The adjoining lakes, Lough Arrow and Lough Key are really beautiful, especially on a clear day

Lough arrow is the main lake in Ballinafad. We get a lot of fishing people and boating. Ballinafad is surrounded by the Curlews Mountains. Itís a very peaceful place to live the local people are very friendly. We have picnic areas in Local Park, next to the tennis court.

Lough Bo and Lough na Sui are close by Lough na Sui is nick named the vanishing lake, there is caves under the lake, which drains the water underground during the dry weather.
